Talissa Leary
Talissa Leary earned her Bachelor of Science in Foods and Nutrition from San Diego State University. After graduating, her work experience has involved working with autistic individuals and elementary age children. While residing in Beaverton, OR, she worked as a Direct Support Professional at Imagine possibilities, where she would plan field trips to grocery stores and farmer’s markets for autistic participants, which later in the day would turn into a cooking or baking hour. After moving back to California, she gained experience working as a Nutrition Coordinator, at a charter school in the Imperial Valley called Ballington Academy. There she was in charge of making sure that lunch period for all grades TK-6th ran smoothly by ordering meals, managing kitchen staff and making sure all kitchen equipment was up to standard. This experience has allowed Talissa to better understand those in need and also provide basic nutrition information to FRP participants. Talissa is also working towards achieving her Master Reiki Certification and becoming a Certified Dietary Manager.
